Our First Survey Results are InFrom visiting A.A. Cole elementary, I was pleasantly surprised by how aware the students were about environmental issues. The group was primarily ages 10 and 11, with one 12 year-old student. There were 10 girls and 9 boys. As you will notice below, the vast majority of the class was able to answer the short answer questions with correct answers. Very few students were unable to tell what “environmentally friendly” meant or how pollution affects the environment around them. Students were also very quick to write down activities they do that involve nature. The area that needs improvement is the amount of time spent outdoors. Helping students connect with nature and realize what small things they could do everyday to help the environment might just be exactly what these kids need. #survey #nature #environment #pollution #kids #sprouts #activities
